I get the request pretty often that we offer a parent's night out at the church building so that our parents can have date night as couples or groups.
We have discussed it several times but in the end always decide "no" based on two reasons:
1) None of us want to staff it.
2) Teens are not always available to watch the kids.
David and I have used the Parent's Night Out at Kingwood Athletic Club. Their staff is excellent with the kids! They organize activities such as bouncy houses and clowns for the kids while they attend Parent's Night Out. And, unlike most of the other options in town, they take kids as young as 9 months old and are equipped for these children with a baby room they can use if there are enough kids.
The cost is reasonable. If you are a member, $20 for the first child, $15 for the second child for care from 5 PM - 10 PM. The cost is slightly more for a non-member of KAC, I think by $5.00 a child.
The next PNO is scheduled for Feb. 13th. I'll put additional information on this blog when we know it.
