Spring brings on all the planning for summer, and with that planning, things are hopping around KWCOC right now. Here are a few things to be award of going on tomorrow:
Art Camp has enrolled almost 230 kids, with payment! But we only have 3 lead teachers signed up of 12 needed. Sign up tomorrow (Sunday) at the Family Ministry Kiosk.
New Beginnings Christian Camp was attended last year by 30 elementary children and 10 staff members. Fundraising is a must to help support the camp. Join us Sunday evening from 4:45-5:45 for a Pancake Supper benefiting the camp. $5.00 a person and donations are greatly appreciated!!!!
As we work towards having the best Children's Ministry in Kingwood, attention to every detail is very important. We have made some changes in our nursery and want to make sure EVERY volunteer knows about the changes and they are well communicated. Immediately following worship there is a short meeting in the FLC.

What's For Dinner Sunday April 25th? PANCAKES!!!
New Beginnings camp is hosting a pancake supper fundraiser. Plates will be $5.00 a person. Donations are happily accepted!!! It will be Sunday, April 25th from 4:45-5:45.
New Beginnings camp is attended by our children as well as children from quite a few other congregations around Texas. New Beginnings Camp is not funded by any one congregation. Therefore, many needs are covered by the donations given by generous church members. This fundraiser will raise MUCH NEEDED funds for the general budget of camp that provides for scholarships, crafts, snacks, administrative items and part of the staff tuition. Staff are responsible for the full tuition of camp, though, fundraisers provide up to 1/2 of their tuition in appreciation of the service they will be giving the children during the week of camp.
Without fundraisers like this one, we would not have the staff or supplies to make camp successful.

Friday night Camp Update
The last night of camp is now complete! Today was another great day. The kids have learned alot in their Bible classes. During chapel and worship, when they are given the opportunity review, it's obvious that they have learned the lessons and are incorporating those into their lives. I just came from our evenings activities that include worship, Fun Hour, and circle devotional. During Fun Hour the children presented cabin skits. I recorded all the skits on my camera and will upload them to You Tube when I get home. The children worked well as a team with their cabin and presented some very funny and sweet skits. Then we had circle devotional, which occurs just before bedtime and concludes with hugging time. There were many tears tonight during hugging time as children realized that tomorrow is the last day. Our big girls have made special connections with each other and the younger campers and they were especially tearful. Pray for Martha Meirendorf and Tammi Prinz as they settle the girls in for the night. These two ladies have done a wonderful job shepharding this group of girls so near their teenage years.
If you are picking up your children tomorrow, I will see you at 3:00. Just come to the end of the road and go down to the big log cabin lodge to your right past the"hotel". We'll have a short ceremony and you can check your kids out. You must see us for a check out slip! For the bus riders, I expect arrival around 9:00 PM, but Chevone can give you a quick call in route. Todd Morte will be our driver.
Tong Utakrit has been taking pictures all week. If you'd like a set of pictures, bring a new DVD to church, labeled with you name, and he'll burn the pictures to the DVD for you. There are over 500 pictures, so we'll let you find the pictures of your children.
Well, that's about all I have to say about camp. Thank you for sharing your sweet children with us! Keep checking this blog for sorts of Children's ministry information and updates.
For His Kis,
Shannon

Thursday evening
I'm so proud of your kids! Tonight, many of them got up front during fun hour and told jokes, sang songs and did skits in front of everyone. Brandy, lauren and kaylee did a gymnastic skit. Some of the older girls sang sanctuary. River sang blue skies and rainbows and did very well (mommy brag moment)! Charles showed us his double jointed fingers (last night, I forgot to mention it). Cole and tanner did a skit. Other of our kids were also busy showing their skills. Well not much more to say. Tomorrow is our last full day so pray for energy for everyone! Pray that everyone stays healthy and that the children will be open to God's will for their life in how they act towards others.

Thursday at camp
I've learned that I have to upload pictures seperatly. So, here is a quick update for the day. The kids are all laughing and smiling. If there is homesickness it is not evident when I am with them. The rest of the Kingwood staff report the same thing when I see them. Of course, camp always has it's little drama's and we are honored to walk with your children as they learn to work out difficulties as Christians.
I'm going to be posting pictures of the second grade Bible class, chapel, and team sports. I'm trying my best to get at least one picture of each child.
Our class talked about honesty! We encouraged kids to be honest and not tell little white lies.

Fun hour
Trying again
Our network connection is so bad that pictures keep timing out. I'll keep trying with small files. Sorry parents;)

Wednesday activities
Parents, I wrote a nice long description of the day today, but, because we barely get a cell signal, the post timed out and it was lost. So, I'll just say that all the children are doing well, no sickness or injury, and it seems the kids are getting along ok, just a few little incidences of learning to live together. The kids had wonderful Bible classes that taught them about forgiveness and respect. They also made their first trip to the lagoon and I heard that the trapeze has become a real favorite. It's 9:15, and they ate finishing their closing devotional. Here are some picture if the bible class I teach and "wild thing", the crazy song time.
